Nach einem frühen Mittagessen in einem super guten, preiswerten Restaurant, fuhren wir mit einem "Lokal-Bus" ( COP $ 6000) von Santa Marta zum Tayrona NP. Wir reisten mit kleinem Gepäck. 1 großer Rucksack und 1 kleiner Rucksack! 20 Liter Wasser und Essen. Dort angekommen wurden erstmal die Rucksäcke kontrolliert. Alkohol war im Gepäck verboten. Wir hatten keinen dabei! :-)
Dann bezahlten wir den Eintritt (COP $ 39,500) und wanderten vom Eingang bis zu den Campingplatz "San Juan". (11,25km). Es ging durch Wälder und am Strand entlang! Die wunderschöne Landschaft war die Anstrengung Wert!
Zwecks der starken Strömung, darf man nicht überall Baden gehen!
Unser Campingplatz war sehr voll.
4 Toiletten und 4 Duschen für einige hundert Personen! Ein Aufseher stand mit einer Stoppuhr an den Duschen. 3 Minuten hatte jede(r) Zeit, wer mehr Zeit in der Dusche verbrachte, bekam einen "sanften" Schubs mit einem
Stock gegen den Duschvorhang!
Ich fühlte mich schon an dem Tag etwas "schlecht".
Nach der Wanderung mit dem Gepäck in der Hitze ist es auch kein Wunder, dachte ich mir! Aber in den frühen Morgenstunden kam "Montesumas Rache" ...ich werde nicht genauer ins Detail gehen, aber wie bereits oben erwähnt: 4 Toiletten, Hunderte Menschen, da macht es noch weniger Spaß in der Schlange anstehen zu müssen - da darf es nicht eilig sein.... Durch die Hitze und den flüssigkeitsverlust konnte man mir zuschauen, wie ich schwächer wurde...Gott sei Dank war die Reiseapotheke mit "an Bord"! am nächsten Tag konnte ich die knapp 12km zurück wandern.
Wir verbrachten dann noch 1 Nacht in Santa Marta - wieder im Casa Familiar und fuhren dann um 17:30Uhr mit einem Luxus Bus 16h nach Medellin! (COP $ 140000).Es gab einen Bordcomputer mit Filmen und wifi.
Wir blieben 2 nächte in Medellín im Hostel La Presidenta.Da wir an Karfreitag ankamen und keine reservation hatten, kamen wir in den Genuss stundenlang durch "El poblado" zu laufen und eine Absage nach der anderen zu bekommen! Durch die Straßen zog ein "Osterumzug" mit festlicher Musik und Predigten! War ganz interessant und schön mit anzusehen! Mit unserer Unterkunft waren wir nicht so zufrieden! Es war unsauber, und der Chef war um keine Ausrede verlegen... Naja! Wir haben Medellin downtown, Cerro nutibara und El poblado angeschaut! Es sind so unglaublich viele Menschen in downtown, Tausende Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und "Marktschreier"... Zu viel für uns und somit war es an der Zeit um weiter zu ziehen!
Ostersonntag ging es nach Guatape. Ein wunderschönes, RUHIGES, kleines Dörfchen (4000 Einwohner). Wir machten einen Ausflug zu einem berühmten "Stein" mit toller Aussicht! Dazu liefen wir an der Straße entlang (40 Minuten) zum "La Piedra del Peñol" und dann ging es 740 Treppenstufen hinauf!
Danach wanderten wir knapp 6km durch kleine Dörfer zurück nach Guatape und kehrten sehr hungrig zum Abendessen in ein Restaurant am Malecon ein. (=La Fogata). Super lecker, große Portionen, preislich in der Mittelklasse --> sein Geld mehr als wert!. (COP $ 16.000 - 20.000)
Am 06.04. stellten wir uns den Wecker auf 5 Uhr, haben Frühstück zubereitet und sind mit dem Bus um 6:30Uhr losgefahren. Mehr als 1 h später in Marinilla angekommen, stellte sich heraus, dass der nächste Bus erst um 11 Uhr fährt.... Umsonst früh aufgestanden und wir mussten fast 3 h Zeit totschlagen und dann fuhren wir erst 6 h nach Bucaramanga und dann 3 h nach San Gil gefahren - langer Tag!!!

Tayrona National Park
After an early lunch at a super good, inexpensive restaurant, we took a "local bus" (COP $ 6000) from Santa Marta to the Tayrona NP. We traveled with a small luggage. 1 large backpack and 1 small backpack! 20 liters of water and food. Once we arrived there the backpacks were first controlled. Alcohol was not allowed in the luggage. Luckily we did not have any with us :-)
Then we paid the entrance fee ($ 39.500 COP) and walked from the entrance to the campsite "San Juan". (11,25km). We went along through the woods and on the beach! The beautiful countryside was the exhausting hike worth!
Because of the strong current you cannot go swimming everywhere!
Our campsite was very busy.
4 toilets and 4 showers for a few hundred people! A guard stood with a stopwatch at the showers. 3 minutes had anybody time, who spent more time in the shower, got a "gentle" nudge with a
Stick against the shower curtain!
I felt something "bad" the first day.
After the walk with luggage in the heat, it's no wonder, I thought! But in the early hours of the morning came "Montesumas revenge" ... I will not go into more details, but as I mentioned above: 4 toilets for hundreds of people - if u need urgently a toilet its no fun waiting in the queue... The heat and fluid loss causes me weakness. ... thank God, I had the first aid kit with "on board"! the next day I could barely hike the 12km back. then we spent another night in Santa Marta - return to Casa Familiar and then drove around 5:30 pm with a luxury bus to Medellin for 16h! (COP $ 140,000) .It had a "board computer" with movies and wifi.
We stayed 2 nights in Medellín "Hostel La Presidenta." we arrived on Good Friday and had no reservation, we had to ask in several hostels for free rooms and besides we could enjoy a walk through "El Poblado". Through the streets were pulling a "Easter parade" with festive music and sermons! Was quite interesting and beautiful to watch! With our accommodation we were not so satisfied! It was dirty, and the boss had an excuse for everything... Well! We visited Medellin downtown, Cerro Nutibara and El poblado! There were an incredible number of people in downtown, lots of shopping and thousands people tried to sell their stuff and yelling at people ... Too much for us and so it was time to continue!
Easter Sunday we went to Guatape. A beautiful, QUIET, small village (4,000 inhabitants). We took a trip to a famous "stone" with great views! For this purpose, we walked along the road (40 minutes) to the "La Piedra del Peñol" and then went up 740 stairs!
Then we hiked nearly 6km through small villages back to Guatape and returned very hungry and stopped for dinner at a restaurant on the Malecon. (= La Fogata). Super tasty, large portions, priced in the middle class -> its money more than worth it !. (COP $ 16,000 -: 20,000)
On 06/04. we set the alarm clock at 5am and have prepared breakfast and took the bus at 6: 30am. More than 1 hour later we arrived in Marinilla, it turned out that the next bus from there runs only at 11 clock .... We got up so early and now we had to kill almost 3 hours of time and we arrived 6 h later in Bucaramanga and then another 3 h bus drive to San Gil - long day !!!
