In Cuzco angekommen, nahm ich mir ein Taxi zum Hostel "Recidencial Panorama". Informierte mich über Tickets zum Machu Picchu und bekam bei meiner Hostel-Mama einen guten Preis! Das Hostel war ca. 15 Min. Bergauf vom Hauptplatz! Ich musste an dem Tag 3x in die Stadt, u.a. 2x zur Bank, da ich die Tickets nur Cash zahlen konnte!
Und da ich für den nächsten Tag in einem anderen Hostel (Hostal Umiña Cusco) bereits eine Reservierung hatte (für mich und meine Cousine Ines), bin ich dort auch noch hin, um den gratis-Shuttle vom Flughafen zum Hostel für Ines zu organisieren! (Dieses hostel liegt zwar auch nur 10 min vom Hauptplatz entfernt, dafür aber in die komplett andere Richtung).
Und die Höhenmeter brachten mich schon etwas aus der Puste! :-o
Gegen 20 Uhr war endlich alles erledigt, ich hab die heiße Dusche genossen (bei ca. 5•C Außentemperatur) und bin dann gleich eingeschlafen!
Um 6:45uhr musste ich aufstehen, Frühstücken und bin mit Sack und pack 30 min bergab und bergauf zum Hostel gelaufen! Dort wartete ich auf Ines und Skypte noch mit meinem Liebsten! :-)
Den Nachmittag verbrachten Ines und ich ziemlich relaxed! Am nächsten Tag mussten wir um 3 Uhr aufstehen und es ging 2h mit dem Auto zum Bahnhof in "Ollantaytambo". Dort warteten wir in Eiseskälte (~1•C) auf den Zug. Dann ging es 1,5h mit dem Zug nach Aguascalientes und dort mit einem weiteren Bus 15 Min. zum Machu Picchu. Wir hatten eine 2 stündige Führung und erkundeten dann noch für ca. weitere 3,5h die Inkastätte. Es hieß, dass es verboten ist Essen mit hinein zu nehmen! Aber es hat kein Mensch kontrolliert! Gott sei dank haben wir gut gefrühstückt! Am Nachmittag ging es zum Essen und shoppen nach Aguascalientes zurück und dort warteten wir auf die Abfahrt des Zuges um 19 Uhr. Gegen 23 Uhr waren wir wieder im Hostel. Freuten uns auf die heiße Dusche und dann ging's ins Bett!
Am Mittwoch bekamen wir ein gutes Frühstück im Hostel (Omelett, Brötchen, Marmelade, Joghurt mit Banane und Honig, Tee/Kaffee,Saft). Dann mussten wir auschecken. Unser Bus fährt erst gegen 19:45 Uhr. Wir ließen das Gepäck im Hostel und erkundeten die Stadt!(mercado, Plaza de Armas, usw...).
U.a. liefen wir gefühlte 1000 Treppen durch eine etwas ärmliche Gegend bergauf zum "Monumento Cristo Blanco". (erwähnenswert sind wieder die Höhenmeter).
Dort hatten wir einen wunderschönen Ausblick über Cuzco.
Ich war mutig und habe Alpaka-Fleisch probiert. Schmeckt sehr gut.
Dann ging es abends mit dem Bus nach Arequipa!

Upon arrival in Cuzco, I took a taxi to the Hostel "Recidencial Panorama". Informed me of Tickets to Machu Picchu and got with my "hostel-Mama" a good deal! The hostel was about 15 min. Uphill from the main square! I had to walk this afternoon 3x in the city, among other things 2x to the bank, because I could pay the tickets only cash!
And since I already had a reservation for the next day in another hostel (Hostal Umina Cusco) = for me and my cousin Ines, I had to go over there as well to organize for Ines the free shuttle from the airport! (Although this hostel is located just 10 minutes from the main square, but in the completely opposite direction).
And the altitude made me a bit out of breath! : -o
Against 8pm everything was finally done, I enjoyed the hot shower (at about 5 • C outside temperature) and then I fell asleep right away!
At 6:45 am I had to get up, have breakfast and walked with my bags 30 minutes downhill and uphill to the other hostel! There I waited for Ines and used Skype to stay connected with my Love! :-)
The afternoon were spent by Ines and me pretty relaxed! The next day we had to get up at 3 am and take a 2 hour ride by car to the train station in "Ollantaytambo". We waited in freezing weather (~ 1 • C) for the train. Then it was 1.5 hours by train to Aguascalientes and there with another bus 15 min. uphill to Machu Picchu. We had a 2 hour guided tour and then explored on our own for about another 3.5 hours the Inca site. It was said that it is forbidden to take food into it! But nobody checked! Thank goodness we had a good breakfast! In the afternoon we went for dinner and shopping back to Aguascalientes, where we waited for the train departure by 7 pm. Finally we were back at the hostel at 11pm. We're looking forward to a hot shower and then we went to bed!
On Wednesday we had a good breakfast at the hostel (omelet, rolls, jam, yogurt with banana and honey, tea / coffee, juice). Then we had to check out. Our bus departs at 7:45 pm to Arequipa. We left the luggage at the hostel and explored the city! (Mercado, Plaza de Armas, etc ...).
Among others we ran like 1000 stairs by a slightly shabby area uphill to the "Monumento Cristo Blanco". (Worth mentioning the altitude).
There we had a wonderful view of Cuzco.
For dinner I was brave and have tried alpaca meat. Tastes great.
Then we went in the evening by bus to Arequipa - 10 hours....
